Textile designer Amy Congdon's project the Biological Atelier explores the role of textile design in the creation of biological products. In her project 'Biological Atelier', she seeks to explore what new living materials and tools will mean for design.
The project envisions a world where materials are not made but grown - where new luxury materials are fashioned from cells not fabrics.
'2082 Autumn/Winter 'Bio Nouveau' skin collection' from Biological Atelier, shows how cosmetic surgery is replaced by tissue-engineered disposable grafted skin embellished with precious stones.
